One of the highest expenses incurred by Echocardiography Labs is phased array transducer replacement (all major manufacturers) due to CW Doppler noise. Cause Technologists, lacking a drop leaf table or cut out mattress, force transducers into the space between the patients apical access window and the bed or table. This results in frequent and radical flexing of the transducers bend relief. Within a relatively short period of time the fine wires found in newer light gauge cables break and short resulting in the subject noise.   For most users, the cost of remedying this problem is an expensive factory transducer exchange.
